Who can become an Associate Member?

Anyone with an interest in ergonomics and human factors is welcome to join the IEHF and enjoy the benefits of membership - regardless of your educational qualifications or your area of work.

Can an Associate Member become a Registered Member?

Yes. To progress from Associate to Registered Membership you need to have 4 years of work experience of ergonomics and human factors, and you must be able to demonstrate a broad knowledge of the knowledge areas of ergonomics. You must be able to demonstrate the sort of work you have been doing in ergonomics and human factors, and have worked under the supervision of a mentor who is a Registered Member or Fellow of the Institute. This usually involves keeping a log of the work you undertake during your years as an Associate. It is important to start this process early, so that you have all the necessary records when you wish to apply for Registered Membership. You should read the information about Registered Membership as soon as you become an Associate Member.

Alternatively, of course, you can simply continue as an Associate Member for as long as you wish, and continue to take advantage of the range of membership benefits we offer.

How much does it cost?

The current subscription rate for an Associate Member is £66.
