Degree courses
There is currently one BSc undergraduate degree course in ergonomics in the UK, and a number of ergonomics and human factors MSc postgraduate degree courses. Many are combined with an associated subject like psychology or design. An MSc is usually a taught postgraduate degree, involving lectures, exams and a project. These programmes involve 1 or 2 years of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time).
The following list of courses have been assessed by the IEHF as 'Qualifying Courses'. They all provide a wide range of academic and professional training for a career in ergonomics and human factors. This means that if you graduate from one of these Qualifying Courses (including those listed as discontinued), you can join the Institute as a Graduate Member, or upgrade from a Student Member to a Graduate Member. If you graduate from a course that is not on this list, you can still join the Institute as an Associate Member. Both grades will allow you to become a future Registered Member with appropriate experience.
